In this conversation Anita Bentata shares how the family trauma and domestic violence she experienced as a child and young woman led her to train as a psychotherapist, specialising in stress, trauma and abuse. She feels passionately about the current lockdown (house arrest) that is driving up the statistics re our ‘diseases and deaths of despair’: suicide, abuse, depression and more.

On the day of the interview 13/7/20 Anita began a program for women that was funded by the Victorian Multicultural Commission. The purpose of the highly-subsidised program is to support women in dealing with the stresses they are facing at this time. Anita will be holding registrations open for one more week, but has other resources and programs available as well. Please contact her via her website for more information: www.anitabentata.com.

Also pleased to share that my new novel for youth, Power of the Light, will be out soon. It is very relevant to this era of illness, fear and control! Stand by…
