Back in June 2025 I had a tarot reading in which I was told that I would encounter all sorts of challenges with the musical project, so I should focus on my Mastery Club online program instead – and write a romance for youth!

Great, thought I, but I’ll carry on anyway because it’s in my heart to do this. (Not sure about that romance for youth suggestion!)
I knew that, while I’d received much positive feedback, there were issues with the script and I had a lot of work to do.
In August I met with a Story Consultant and decided I would work with him in tackling the other issues.
In September I went overseas for a month’s holiday, planning to hit the musical road in earnest on my return. Instead, while I was away I received an email advising me that my Marketer had to step down. She had been ill and needed to lighten her load.
In October my mother’s health failed and she passed away.
And now, this month, November, I’ve just learnt that my Composer has to step away from the project also, for personal reasons.
So… I ain’t giving up but things do seem to be slowing down temporarily. I still plan to launch a podcast and interview doctors and health researchers and illness-conquerors as part of my process in researching and supporting the musical development, so stand by for news! (Will probably launch in 2026 but you never know, could be sooner.)
AI… More and more people are diving into it.
I was asked to edit a book recently and was disappointed to learn that one of the contributor’s chapters had been written by AI. It was not a surprise: the content lacked the personal touch. The language might have been smooth and confident, but the message was vague and abstract.
It’s such a moral dilemma! I personally cannot use AI to write as that would be undermining my own creativity, but we did use AI to come up with a poster for the musical… We felt we needed something more quickly than the artist could deliver and yet… No rush now – might get back to that artist!
Is it okay to use AI for things that require skills beyond our training or capacity? E.g. (for me) marketing…?
A ‘creative’ I know recently lost work to AI. To a machine. Does that sit well with you? I would genuinely like to hear from you about this. Please reply to this email or comment below.
As per my last blog, there is a choice facing us: we either move steadily and inexorably into the digital world or we guard and protect our creativity, intelligence and freedom by using those services very cautiously. (I just watched a pretty detailed and sobering presentation about ‘the Surveillance State’ by Dr Andrew Kaufman.)
Speaking of which, if you’re wary of the new social media ‘offer’ to create a digital identity in order to ‘protect youth’, please have a look at this site www.safegen.com.au. A brilliant move on behalf of an entrepreneur concerned about protecting privacy.
