It is a timely and edgy two-act musical that tackles today’s burgeoning health crisis in a way that puts the power to heal back in our hands. 

• ‘Timely’ because illness statistics are worsening rather than improving, despite all the advances in medical knowledge.
• ‘Edgy’ because it challenges existing beliefs about what makes us sick and how we heal, but it’s backed by solid science and the research and findings of leading-edge doctors, health practitioners and researchers, as well as time-proven, traditional practitioners.

Visualise six professional actors sitting around a table and reading the play as it stands so that we can see how it’s flowing, what needs to go, what can stay, what needs tweaking. Professional actors will ensure we are most efficient with our time. They’ll sing whatever music we have ready or just talk through the lyrics. Then we’ll have a roundtable discussion about how it went, what worked, what didn’t, etc.

After the table read, these are the next steps on our way to a first production:

1.  Script rewrite, incorporating feedback from the table read.
2.  Musical scores for all songs need to be completed.
3.  A marketing campaign to raise the necessary funds for further development (steps #1 and #2)

We’re going to need some $50,000 to cover our costs over the next six months while the second draft is being written and the full show is being composed. Then we’ll fund-raise to develop staging and costume concepts, and then for the rehearsal process for a first production.

For now, we’re taking it one step at a time: the table read is next, hence the $6000 goal to cover the costs of writer, composer, director and six professional actors for a day’s ‘table read’ workshop, and marketing of our crowd-funding campaign.
